Dear Katy,

Tell AT&T and other corporations: Stop financing the war on women

Thanks for the abortion bans, AT&T. You too, Coca-Cola. And Walmart. And Eli Lily, Pfizer and Aetna.

These corporations publicly brag about "lifting up women around the world," achieving "equality and empowerment for women" and expanding women's access to healthcare while funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to extreme anti-woman Republicans in states across the country.1

It's unacceptable, and it needs to stop.

Abortion rights and women's freedom have not been at this great a risk since Roe v. Wade was decided. Alabama just banned abortions completely, except in instances when the mother's life is at risk. Georgia, Kentucky, Mississppi and Ohio recently passed six-week abortion bans, making the procedure illegal before most women know they are pregnant. Missouri passed a nine-week ban.

It's clear that Republican lawmakers want to strip away women's rights and control their bodies. Their ultimate goal is to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that affirmed a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. With two Trump justices – one a known sexual predator and both anti-choice extremists – we've never been closer to a Supreme Court decision that could weaken or even strip away a woman's constitutional right to abortion.

The right-wing extremists responsible for these attacks in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio are in office in part thanks to campaign contributions from:2

  • AT&T, which donated at least $196,600 to anti-choice Republicans in those six states
  • Coca-Cola, which gave $40,800 to right-wing campaigns in five of those states
  • Walmart, which made $57,700 in contributions across the six states
  • Eli Lilly, which contributed $66,250 to anti-woman extremists in five of the states
  • Pfizer, which donated $53,650 in the six states
  • Aetna, which put $26,600 in the coffers of right-wing Republicans in the six states

Companies like AT&T must stop pretending to be allies of women while funding the effort to overturn Roe v. Wade. Speak out now to demand that they stop donating to anti-woman Republicans immediately.
