Donate Today

I figured there was no better time.

Our democracy is under attack. In the coming hours, days, months, and years, we will all need to act on our values. And on Wednesday, that's exactly what I did when I joined a group of Greenpeace activists to hang a massive banner of resistance hundreds of feet above the White House where Trump and his climate-denying administration couldn't ignore it.

I feel privileged to take part in this movement, and to be part of an organization that will never stop fighting for what's right. And if we're going to continue, we need you on our side. Will you join me by making a donation today?

On Wednesday, I felt empowered to join this resistance. I felt energized knowing that the banner flying above my head stood for something powerful. But I felt most inspired by seeing what people like you were doing all around the world at the same time — stepping up and acting bravely in a million different ways. Thank you.

Our movement is growing every day, but it needs fuel. Will you make a donation today to help grow the resistance and fight for climate progress?

As the board chair of Greenpeace Inc., I know what this organization — with people like you at the center — has the power to create.

We take action against all odds. We make the impossible possible. We fight, we persevere, and we win. And to do it all, we need YOU! Your courage, your volunteer leadership, and your generosity keep us going. Will you give what you can today to help power the next year of resistance?

While exhausted today, I also feel fully energized by this powerful resistance movement and am ready to get back to work building a country and society that protects our most vulnerable. In the coming year, I will continue to work with the Greenpeace community with YOU to build a world that's green, peaceful, and just. I hope that you will continue to stand with us.

Please make a donation today and be a part of this critical work and all our campaigns to protect the planet. Together, I know we are unstoppable.

Yours in resistance,

Karen Topakian
Activist and Greenpeace Inc. Board Chair

P.S. People like you taking action and standing up for your communities are what gives me hope in this challenging time. Please give today to help fuel the resistance!

Rise and resist -- together

Greenpeace

Kathleen-

BREAKING: I'm here at the White House delivering a message of resistance the Trump administration can't ignore — now I need YOU to take action with me.

Resist

Our resistance to Trump's anti-environment agenda is united, relentless, and growing stronger every day. For as long as he's in office, we will vigilantly defend our for climate and communities — join us!

Pledge to Resist

Today, myself and six other Greenpeace activists are taking a stand for social and environmental justice on the country's largest stage. As I write this, we're about to deploy a massive hand-painted banner with a message for the new administration and the corporate interests it represents — we will resist!

And if you're reading this, it means I'm overlooking Washington, DC — the site of so many powerful acts of resistance already this week — with our message of resistance hanging below me for the world to see.

As the sun rises over the White House, we are here to say that climate denial, racism, misogyny, homophobia, and bigotry will not become our new normal.

Rise with us. Pledge to resist Trump's dangerous agenda and be a voice for the environment, our communities, and YOUR vision for our country.

I grew up in the shadow of oil refineries in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I've seen what happens when those in power use their influence to place industry profits above people's health and safety. If Trump prolongs and expands our dependence on dirty fossil fuels, it's communities like mine that will suffer.

This is not the first time we've had to rise and resist to protect land and life, and it won't be the last. Two years ago, I stood anchored to a bridge in Portland, Oregon while climbers and kayaktivists below me blocked Shell's icebreaker from drilling the Arctic. Thanks to the thousands of people like you who took action with us, today the US Arctic is protected.

Now, I'm here blocking Trump from advancing his hateful agenda, and once again we pledge to resist until we win.

In the past few weeks, people across the country have mobilized by the thousands to resist Trump's cabinet nominations. Artists are giving creative life to the movement and outlining our hopeful vision for the future. And millions have taken to the streets to march in solidarity with women and those who this administration promises to attack.

For as long as necessary, people like you and I will continue to be a barrier between this administration and its plans to sell out our communities and environment for profit. It is time for all of us to step up and rise together. Take the pledge today to resist hate and ignorance with love and progress!

We will resist when Trump tries to weaken the Paris Climate Agreement so fossil fuel companies can profit on climate destruction.

We will resist when he tries to fast-track dangerous projects like Keystone XL and the Dakota Access Pipeline with no regard for Indigenous sovereignty.

We will resist racism and the exclusion of immigrants and people of color.

We will resist any and all attacks on us, our neighbors, and our children's future.

Trump may have the presidency, but not by the will of the people. Join the resistance to protect our communities and the land we stand on!

Most people in this country did not vote for this president or his agenda to strip away protections for the planet and its people, and we won’t let him destroy what generations have built. We will rise, we will resist, and we will renew.

Today I sent a hand-painted love letter to the people of the planet. Tomorrow, I hope you'll be standing beside me.

In solidarity and with love,

Nancypili Hernandez
Activist

Stop the Dakota Access Pipeline -- again

Greenpeace

Kathleen-

We’ve stopped the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines before, and we’ll do it again.

Take Action

Tell Citibank to stop funding this dirty fossil fuel project NOW!

Take Action button

This is urgent.

Donald Trump has taken the first step towards reviving the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, projects that thousands of people like you worked for years tirelessly to stop.

Our message is, has always been, and will continue be simple: we will resist any attempts to trample Indigenous rights and our climate in order to boost profits for the fossil fuel industry. We will resist this attempt to revive dangerous oil pipelines the American people do not want.

Pleas to the Trump administration have fallen on deaf ears, but we can still take action and stop this disaster before it starts. Citibank is one of the lead funders of the Dakota Access Pipeline. If it pulls its support, the financial future of this project would become very shaky, very fast.

This is our time to rise up. Tell Citibank to pull its support for the Dakota Access Pipeline and stop funding human rights abuse and climate destruction!

Citibank claims that it supports the protection of human rights around the world. But it’s still funding a project that directly threatens the Standing Rock Sioux’s tribal sovereignty, water supply, and ancestral lands.

Add to that the militarized police response to peaceful water protectors, and it’s clear that this company cannot claim to care about human rights and support this project at the same time.

Solidarity with Indigenous leaders is adding up. Several big financial institutions have already pulled their funding for the Dakota Access Pipeline — let’s add Citibank to the list! Tell it to stop putting profits over people TODAY.

It’s not yet clear exactly what Trump’s declaration today means in terms of starting up legal proceedings or construction on these projects — but it doesn’t matter. Any step backwards towards an America run on polluting fossil fuels is a reason to rise up, resist, and stop this administration from rolling back the progress that we’ve achieved.

You’ve stood with communities on the frontlines of these pipeline projects before, now we need you to step up again.

Sign on today to tell Citibank to stop funding the Dakota Access Pipeline!

In solidarity,

Mary Sweeters
Climate Campaigner, Greenpeace USA

P.S. Water protectors, climate activists, organizers, and people like you didn’t stop these projects just to let Trump bring them back from the dead without a fight. Take urgent action to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline by urging Citibank to withdraw its support!

Let's get to work

Greenpeace
The new President’s dangerous agenda puts our climate and communities at risk, but Greenpeace has been standing up to bullies since 1971, and we’re not going to stop now.

Kathleen-

Support the movement to resist threats to our environment and communities.

The new President’s dangerous agenda puts our climate at risk.

Give to Greenpeace today to resist the new administration’s anti-environment agenda and support all of our important environmental campaigns.
Donate button

Today is Inauguration Day, and it is a dark day for many of us. But I’m choosing to look at today as a beginning. It is the beginning of our movement and the work we have ahead of us.

Join the resistance. Give today to support all of Greenpeace’s environmental campaigns to help protect our climate, communities, and natural wonders from environmental destruction.

Over the past few months, while I’ve worried for the future of our country and planet, I’ve seen you, along with so many others, come together ready to step up and fight harder than ever to resist our new President’s dangerous agenda. We stand strong against hate, misogyny, and any policies that put our communities and climate at risk. And we will continue to resist.

You’ve already started taking concrete action against some of the new administration’s most egregious plans. Over the course of just one week, more than 10,000 people like you called your senators to speak out against appointing Exxon’s CEO Rex Tillerson as our Secretary of State — and others visited senators’ offices across the country and gathered outside (and inside!) the Senate to speak out against Tillerson’s appointment.

We will never stop fighting for a clean, healthy planet  and will continue to peacefully resist the new administration’s plans to roll back ANY environmental protections. Your support today will help us mobilize even more people and run stronger campaigns to protect our planet.

Tomorrow, I will be marching with Greenpeace at the Women’s March on Washington, joined by thousands of others in DC and by sister-marches across the globe. This soon-to-be-historic march is only possible because a small group of people saw an opportunity for resistance and they organized. I am in awe of what these organizers created, and proud to add my voice to theirs, speaking out for women, for environmental justice, and for social justice.

The time to resist is now  and we're going going to fight the new President’s dangerous anti-climate policies with all we've got.

Your gift to Greenpeace today will help create more moments of resistance  and fund all of our campaigns to protect the environment during this fragile time.

We are ready to resist. Let’s get to work.

This is unacceptable

Greenpeace

Kathleen-

This should not be business as usual.

Help put a stop to the oil companies’ greed and protect wildlife

Help us grow our powerful movement for our environment.

Donate today

Oil spills and leaks in the US happen too often. And under President-elect Trump, we can expect even more.

Trump’s plans for our environment have devastated all of us who care about our communities, clean air and water, wildlife, and our planet’s very future. He’s promised not only more drilling, but more mining and fracking. All of which are heating up the globe to dangerous levels.

But this is no time to feel defeated. We are stronger than Trump and his fossil fuel industry allies—it’s time they realized this. Will you help continue to strengthen the Greenpeace movement with an urgent donation today?

Your gift will help put a stop to the oil companies’ greed, and protect wildlife and our communities by keeping fossil fuels in the ground — where they belong.

Last May, Shell spilled nearly 90,000 gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana. Less than two weeks later, they caused a 20,000-gallon oil spill in California's Central Valley. They call these spills "accidents" but the fact is spills and failures are just "business as usual" for the oil and gas industry. And business as usual is unacceptable. We have to take bold action now. But we can’t do it without you, Kathleen.

Please donate $3, or more, to Greenpeace today to help protect communities and wildlife from new oil spills and to support our other critical campaigns for the environment.

In order to stay independent, we never take a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do depends on the financial support of people like you! We are stepping up our campaign to keep fossil fuels in the ground. With your help now, we will work to:

  • Mobilize across the country to fight the sale of our public lands for oil, gas, and coal;
  • Stop fossil fuel extraction at the source, through global coordinated action;
  • Support coastal communities in the fight against offshore drilling; and
  • Demand that President Trump stand with the people and the planet — not the fossil fuel industry — to make the U.S. a leader in combating climate change.

The science is clear — we need to limit global warming to two degrees if we want to avoid the worst effects of climate change such as rising sea levels, droughts, floods, and crop failure. And one way we can do this is by saying NO to fossil fuels and saying YES to renewable energy.

Give a gift now to grow the powerful movement for our environment. Every dollar goes a long way to help protect our planet and our communities.

Thank you,

Mary Nicol
Climate Campaigner, Greenpeace USA

P.S. The threat of climate change is urgent — and very real. Give today to help protect our planet and communities from runaway climate change, oil disasters, and other environmental threats.

A message from Senator Michael Bennet

Dear Kathleen:

Thank you for writing me regarding President-elect Trump's executive branch nominations.

Many Coloradans have written to express their strong concern about the Trump Administration's agenda and to disapprove of Mr. Trump's nominees to fill key roles in the new administration. Given the tone and rhetoric of the President-elect's campaign and some of the policies and views he has advanced, this is not surprising.

I recognize the threats that man-made climate change poses and believe this is a pivotal moment if we are to make lasting progress. The nation has come a long way in pursuit of a consensus on energy policy and climate change, and now is the time for lawmakers to make the difficult decisions on policies that will address climate change, stimulate the economy, create good paying jobs, and help lead America to energy independence. A well designed, science-based comprehensive energy policy can achieve all of these goals. I also support strong investment in innovative, home-grown clean energy solutions, as well as responsible development of our traditional energy sources like clean-burning natural gas. I am proud to say that Colorado has become a leader in energy research, development, and entrepreneurship. Please know that my priority as your Senator is to find ways to help improve Colorado's environment and grow our economy.

I am committed to a thorough and fair process for considering each of Mr. Trump's nominees. It is my hope that each nominee will be fully transparent during the confirmation process. I will hold each nominee to standards befitting the high offices under consideration.

I value the input of fellow Coloradans in considering the wide variety of important issues and legislative initiatives that come before the Senate. I hope you will continue to inform me of your thoughts and concerns.

For more information about my priorities as a U.S. Senator, I invite you to visit my website at http://bennet.senate.gov/. Again, thank you for contacting me.

Sincerely,

Michael F. Bennet
United States Senator

To reply to this message with a message to Senator Bennet or the office, please use the form at http://bennet.senate.gov/contact. Thank you.

I just made this call

Greenpeace

Kathleen-

Thanks for signing the petition to stop Rex Tillerson from becoming Secretary of State.

Can you make the call?

Now take the next step and call your senators today!
Call 1-855-636-8150 right now and we’ll connect you.

"My philosophy is to make money … and so if I can drill and make money, then that’s what I want to do."

That’s a quote from Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson1, the man Donald Trump wants to be the next Secretary of State. I’m not about to let that happen, and I know you aren’t either.

Already, you and thousands of others have signed the petition asking the Senate to block Tillerson’s confirmation. You and I both know that a fossil fuel lover like Rex — who has used his company’s wealth to block clean energy and push for oil drilling in the Arctic — has no place in our government.

There’s still time for the Senate to block Tillerson’s confirmation, and we need to take every opportunity to make sure they do. Will you make a call to your senators today and ask them to vote against Tillerson’s confirmation? Call 1-855-636-8150 or text REX to 877877 and talk to your senators right now!

Calling your senator’s office is one of the most effective ways to make sure they hear your concerns. Senate staffers are required to record every call and report them to their bosses — so they will definitely hear from you.

Even if your senators are already opposed to Tillerson, they need to know you are too. It will take strong leadership from within the Senate to convince those on the fence to come out against this dangerous nomination, and it’s up to us to make sure they follow through.

And if your senators are some of those on the fence, then they definitely need to hear from you. Tillerson has spent his career putting Exxon’s profits above the needs of people and the environment — he would be a disaster as Secretary of State.

Call 1-855-636-8150 today and make sure the Senate knows that the American people don’t want the CEO of Exxon anywhere near the White House!

Already in 2017, we’ve seen pressure from people like you force Congress to change its course. Most recently, a “flood of calls” from voters convinced Republican members of the House of Representatives to abandon a plan to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics.2

I know we can do the same to stop Rex Tillerson, but we need absolutely everyone to step up — and that includes you. Please make a call to your senators today at 1-855-636-8150, or by texting REX to 877877. Together we can stop Trump and Tillerson from unleashing climate chaos!

Thanks for all you do,

Ryan Schleeter
Online Organizer, Greenpeace USA

P.S. I got off the phone with my senators’ offices earlier today, and I can’t tell you how good it felt to speak out against Trump and Tillerson. Now will you join me? Call 1-855-636-8150 or just text REX to 877877 and talk to your senators  then ask a friend to do the same!

Welcome, Kathleen!

Greenpeace

Hi Kathleen-

Welcome to Greenpeace! I'm grateful you joined our people-powered movement to create a green and peaceful future. You couldn't have picked a more important time to be part of this community.

The window to act on climate change is closing, just as President-elect Donald Trump is pledging to expand drilling and fracking, stacking his administration with climate deniers and fossil fuel barons. For decades, companies like Exxon, Shell and BP have profited by drilling and fracking unchecked in U.S. public lands and waters, while our communities and ecosystems pay the price for their destruction.

But Greenpeace has launched a campaign to stop them — to keep fossil fuels in the ground.

Watch the "Together we are unstoppable" video now to find out more about the Keep it in the Ground movement and how you can help.

WATCH and SHARE: Together We Are Unstoppable!

The path to a sustainable future for people, wildlife, and the climate does not include fossil fuels. That's why we must keep fossil fuels in the ground and build a US powered by 100 percent renewable energy. More drilling, mining and fracking will only make climate change worse for us all.

It has been shown time and again renewable energy prevents further pollution in the atmosphere and is safer, cheaper, and accessible to all. The path towards 100 percent renewable energy leads to cleaner air and water, keeps temperature increases within the limits our planet can sustain, and keeps the promises our nation made in the Paris Agreement last year to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Please take a few minutes to watch our video to find out more about our efforts to keep fossil fuels in the ground and then share it with friends and family.

It's concerning what Donald Trump will do to roll back progress the climate movement has made towards a clean, safe, and equitable planet for us all. BUT our movement isn't going anywhere — we have the momentum. Thanks to people like YOU, the Obama administration ruled out new drilling plans in the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans and put a halt on coal leasing on public lands. Now it's time for us to continue to raise our voices and keep moving forward — to protect our progress from Donald Trump's dangerous agenda.

Thank you so much, Kathleen , for joining Greenpeace. It's because of people like you we';re able to rally our movement.

To a green and peaceful future,

Leila Deen
Deputy Campaigns Director, Greenpeace USA

P.S. We're excited to have you with us. Watch "Together we are unstoppable" to find out about more about our urgent campaign to keep fossil fuels in the ground!

Thank you for your message

Thank you for your message.

My staff and I look forward to reading more about your ideas. We'll keep your thoughts in mind as we review relevant legislation and further consider this issue.

Keeping in touch is important to me. The best ideas come from people in Colorado, not from politicians in Washington. That's why it's critical for us to hear your opinions on ways to build a better future for Colorado and the country.

To stay up-to-date on the work we're doing, please visit our website, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks again for contacting me.
