Coca-Cola is polluting our oceans

Image

Kathleen-

This is what discarded plastic does to marine life when it's just dumped

Does this photograph disgust and disturb you as much as it does me? If you found it hard to look at, I apologize. But I wanted to make you understand the kind of horrors we're working to stop.

When you see those cute polar bear ads on TV, remember that Coca-Cola is the largest soft drink company in the world. That means it is the largest source of single-use plastic bottles, and the largest cause of that type of plastic pollution.

Thousands and thousands of Greenpeace supporters are taking Coke on directly. Join us! Send a message right now urging Coca-Cola's CEO to phase out single-use plastic bottles and invest in alternatives.

Coke is planning to announce a new global policy on plastics – we need to act now to pressure the company to do the right thing. If Coke heads down the path toward sustainability, it will set the stage for other corporations to follow.

My colleagues have emailed you about this petition before, Kathleen. Adding your name and sending Coke an email will take less than a minute of your time, but it will do a world of good. Please add your name to the thousands of others who want Coca-Cola to phase out single-use plastics and invest in safe alternatives. We must ensure Coke's products are never found in our oceans, waterways, or coasts ever again.

Thank you so much for standing with Greenpeace this holiday season in peaceful defense of our fragile oceans.

Sincerely,

Sarah Rasmussen
Digital Director, Greenpeace USA
