Today's action: Stand with survivors. Cancel Kavanaugh.

Tell Senate Republicans: No sexual predator on the Supreme Court

The petition to Senate Republicans reads:
"The credible allegations of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh disqualify him from a seat on a Supreme Court where he could be the deciding vote on issues affecting women's rights and women's freedom. Stop trying to jam through his confirmation."

Dear Katy,

Tell Senate Republicans: No sexual predator on the Supreme Court

Three women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh and Senate Republicans are still trying to give him a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court.

In the past few weeks Republican senators have proved over and over that they care more about helping men escape consequences for sexual harassment and assault than about making sure a liar and potential sexual predator isn't confirmed to the Supreme Court. They are proving it again today as Dr. Christine Blasey Ford bravely testifies before the 11 hostile Republican men who run the Senate Judiciary committee.

We who believe survivors must push back now.

Republicans have been playing dirty when it comes to Kavanaugh for weeks. They fought against releasing hundreds of thousands of pages from his time in the Bush White House, many of which could give crucial insight into his character. They prepared for the fallout from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's allegations by organizing a letter signed by 65 women who knew Kavanaugh in high school and were ready to vouch for his character, but did not slow his confirmation down.1 Though he likely knew about Ramirez's allegations, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promised Christian conservatives: "In the very near future, Judge Kavanaugh will be on the United States Supreme Court… Don't get rattled by all of this. We're going to plow right through it and do our job."2

It is outrageous that Senate Republicans are trying to rush forward with Kavanaugh's confirmation while new information continues to be revealed about his past sexual misconduct – especially given that Kavanaugh's denials of the allegations are meaningless in light of his well-documented perjury before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Republicans' refusal to slow things down in the face of survivors' courage proves yet again that their party is willing to ignore, demonize and undermine women in service of partisan gain. We have to speak out to let them know their misogyny is appalling, and that we will hold them accountable.
