Kathleen- The 2020 candidates have some work to do… Sooo, about the Democratic debates last week. The attention paid to climate change was abysmal. That's why we're building a pressure team of volunteers and activists, online and offline, to make sure that the climate crisis is a top priority for the candidates, and I hope you'll join us. Sound interesting? Read on, or get the details here. How is this going to work? Greenpeace supporters all over the U.S. are joining a "pressure team" that will make sure every single 2020 candidate is feeling the heat on this issue. We'll use every channel we have — asking them questions at town halls, submitting comments through their online forms, pressuring them on social media, showing up at their meet and greets, and more. When they hear from thousands of us, they will know it's time to strengthen their climate plans or lose support. Thinking about climate change can be overwhelming and disheartening, but it's important that you take action — too much is hanging in the balance. And the good news? Joining a team of thousands of activists who are fighting alongside you is the best way to stay hopeful. Last year, top scientists from around the world released a report that was terrifying. It laid out just how bad things can and will get if we do not act now to curb climate change. The report said that we have a decade to take aggressive action to turn things around — to mobilize towards a clean energy economy and confront fossil fuel industry power — to limit warming to 1.5 degrees. That means we cannot afford another president who refuses to act. We still have the power to curb the worst effects of climate change, but only if we work together! Sign up to join the pressure team today! Together for our climate and planet, Jill Pape P.S. The 2020 presidential candidates are still solidifying their policy proposals — so we have a critical window of opportunity to influence their campaigns. Help pressure each candidate to create the strongest possible climate plans! Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you! Greenpeace 702 H Street, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20001 | 1-800-722-6995
