Gut full of plastic

Last Friday, another whale washed to shore, bleeding. Within hours it was dead.

#BreakFreeFromPlastic

Enough is enough! Tell the world's biggest consumer goods brands to ditch single-use plastic!

The Cuvier's beaked whale that came ashore in the Philippines had 88 pounds of plastic in its gut, which very likely had caused the animal to suffer for months. I won't show you the pictures. They're too upsetting. Instead, I'm sharing a symbol of our resistance to plastic pollution created by Greenpeace Philippines — an art installation of a replica whale choking on plastic.

Unfortunately, deaths like this are all too common. That's just one reason our movement is about to escalate our demands to some of the biggest corporate plastic polluters to make a real commitment to protecting communities, oceans, and wildlife. But we can't do it without you.

Sign now to tell Nestlé, Unilever, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo.,Colgate, Danone, Johnson & Johnson, and Mars to phase out throwaway plastic packaging!

With millions joining all over the world, our campaign is seriously being felt by these corporations. And over the next month, we're ratcheting up our campaign in a big way — as I write this, hundreds of Greenpeace activists in the Netherlands are actually delivering your message to Unilever's global headquarters.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned. We need you, I need you — and communities and wildlife facing the plastic pollution crisis need you — to be part of the action.

Thanks for all you do,

Kate Melges
