What will it take to stop offshore drilling?

Support the Arctic Sunrise's mission to protect our oceans, coastal communities, and sea life from fossil fuel corporations!

Most people could never imagine intentionally deafening a dolphin, killing a sea turtle older than their grandparents, or wiping an endangered whale species out of existence. But fossil fuel corporations are run by real people – billionaires – who have decided that their lifestyle and profit margins are worth destroying our oceans, coastal communities, and fragile ecosystems.

If fossil fuel CEOs don't have the conscience to stop irreversibly harming our planet, we'll have to band together and stop them ourselves. Add your name to this petition from thousands of Greenpeace activists demanding that Congress protect our oceans, coasts, and sea life from oil exploration and drilling.

Greenpeace is also proud to announce the arrival of the historic ship, Arctic Sunrise, to the Atlantic Coast, where it will amplify the voices of coastal communities that are calling on us all to help them hold the line against fossil fuel corporations – and the climate science-denying politicians who support them. Arctic Sunrise will sail the coast as a beacon of peace and environmental protection, uniting us behind those on the frontlines of the movement to end offshore drilling and to fight for action on climate change.

We'd love to have you come aboard the ship during one of our stops in New York City, Norfolk, Wilmington, or Miami. Arctic Sunrise is hosting events all along the coast, giving communities an up-close look at the work we're doing together – scientific expeditions, training in taking creative action, and much more.

Even if you are not able to join us in person, you can make an impact and support the ship's work by signing the Greenpeace petition to stop seismic airgun blasting, the destructive practice to identify oil and gas deposits under the sea floor!

The strength of our movement is in our numbers – I know we can count on you to add your name to the list of thousands of Greenpeace supporters standing firm against the threat of offshore drilling!

Thanks for all you do,

Mary Sweeters
Climate & Energy Campaigner, Greenpeace USA

P.S. Scientists estimate that the seismic airgun blasting corporations use to find oil beneath the Atlantic Ocean would injure as many as 138,000 whales and dolphins, including killing or injuring nine critically endangered North Atlantic right whales. Please sign our petition – our oceans are depending on us.

Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you!
