A new low: corporations to deafen dolphins

Support the Arctic Sunrise's mission to stop fossil fuel corporations from potentially injuring, deafening, and killing up to 138,000 dolphins, sea turtles, whales, and other sea life!

Greenpeace supporters like you and I already know about the disastrous consequences of offshore drilling to our oceans and our planet. We've risen up on more than one occasion, exposing fossil fuel corporations like Exxon and Shell, and protecting fragile ecosystems from exploitation. Our peaceful, direct action has helped change US policy and pushed a renewable and sustainable energy agenda forward.

But our oceans — and, more specifically, ocean life, like dolphins and whales — need our immediate action again. Sign our petition to stop seismic airgun blasting — an incredibly harmful, potentially deadly method of finding oil beneath the ocean floor.

These ear-splitting blasts are so loud they can be heard underwater from 2,500 miles away, about the distance from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh. The government's own scientists estimate that seismic blasting in the Atlantic would injure, even deafen or kill, as many as 138,000 whales, dolphins, and other marine life.

We're getting loud, too — we've sent the historic ship, Arctic Sunrise, on a tour of the Atlantic Coast, amplifying the voices of coastal communities as they call out fossil fuel corporations' use of seismic airgun blasting in oil exploration.

You can take action, right now! Sign our petition and join the thousands of Greenpeace supporters standing together against seismic airgun blasting. We have to defend our oceans, coastal communities, and sea life from fossil fuel companies' relentless search for finite oil deposits in the name of billion-dollar profits.

Remember: there are more of us than there are billionaire oil CEOs. Together, we can fuel this movement with people power and put an end to seismic blasting once and for all!

P.S.  Our nation's best scientists are warning that seismic airgun blasting in the Atlantic could mean the death and injury of nine critically endangered North Atlantic right whales. Please sign our petition — let's do everything we can to end this horrific practice.

Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you!
