Tell your elected representatives to support a Green New Deal and call for a fossil fuel phase out.  ADD YOUR NAME I have breaking news — Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ed Markey just dropped the #GreenNewDeal resolution in Congress! The Green New Deal is a no brainer for moving to a green and just climate future. From rapidly scaling renewable energy to prioritizing conservation and promoting sustainable agriculture, the Green New Deal means the country could soon have the tools to address climate change on the scale we desperately need. But there is one huge challenge: the oil, gas, and coal industry will fight this tooth and nail while continuing to dump pollution into our atmosphere. In order to stop catastrophic climate change and get us to the green future we want, federal legislation MUST also halt fossil fuel expansion. Tell your Congress members to support a Green New Deal and strengthen it by ensuring any climate legislation includes a plan to responsibly phase out fossil fuels. Senator Ed Markey and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's resolution is moving the national climate debate to places no one thought possible even a year ago. We stand behind the effort to create millions of family-sustaining union jobs that protect our nation's clean air, water, and communities while confronting systemic injustices head-on. But the fossil fuel industry will not transition willingly on its own to life-sustaining, renewable practices, because it is determined to trash our planet for its profit no matter the cost. But, we need all fossil fuels kept in the ground immediately if we are to address the scale of this climate crisis in 10 years. That's why it's important for people like you to make sure that every single elected leader is actively working to phase out fossil fuels right now.
