💥Let's take down R Kelly - how YOU can help plus LOTS of new stuff 😊READ ME ðŸ˜Š

Happy 2019!

I've been a busy elf over the holiday season, and now I have a ton to share, so here it is in list format, I will be following up with more details in a later newsletter.

1.  For Joycelyn Savage

Pledge a gift or service on For Joycelyn Savage - Joycelyn is one of the young women being abused by R. Kelly currently.  Personally, this has been a challenging project for me.  FJS is being released in the wake of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary that came out earlier this month.  I hope it helps people.  The goal is to raise over $150,000,000 worth in pledges of goods and services from ordinary people like you and me to show Joycelyn and other young women that they can break free of their abusers and that there is support waiting for them outside the abuser's tight control.  $150 million is R. Kelly's purported net worth.

2.  Download or update the FREE Krista Suh's VOTE stickers app to text your friends, because for the Women's March, we've changed the time stamp form "Vote Nov 6" to "Women's March 1-19-2019."

3.  Greeting Cards!

This is so huge that it warrants its own party:  I have started a greeting card line of cheeky feminist greeting cards.  This initial batch is great for an "anytime hello" to your feminist friend, Valentine's/Galentine's Day, International Women's Day, Lunar New Year, Pi Day, and more.  Buy 2 or more cards, get automatic free shipping.  Buy 5 cards get 1 free (use promo codes BUY5 BUY10 BUY15 etc - see Coupon Page :) . If you are a retailer, check out the wholesale discount and spread feminism through your shop by carrying these cards!

4.  Patreon - I am excited to launch my profile on Patreon and to share all sorts of exclusive content there.  Patreon allows patrons like you to donate a monthly contribution, and in return I get to share special content to patrons.  For $3 a month or more you can have pride knowing that you are supporting art like the Pussyhat, For Joycelyn Savage, and more - and gifting it to the people.  I am intrigued by this model because it liberates me as an artist from having to raise money from patriarchal institutions. Instead, Patreon allows me to connect with you, my supporters, directly and allows me to constantly create great stuff for you and the world.  Also, I've been testing it out for a few weeks before launch, and it's genuinely FUN!  Sometimes social media sites can feel unsafe, and I find that Patreon offers safety for both patrons and creators, which fosters greater connection, creativity, annnnd yup, FUN :)

5.  I am flying to DC today - the WNDC has been inundated with packages of pussyhats - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  We'll be accepting hats up until Friday, the day before the march, so please get your pussyhats in before then.  If you're not quite done, you can hang on to it and keep a lookout for my next Pussyhat drive in February - I need help drumming up 200 hats (I can't knit them all myself in time AH!) for an intimate event for high school junior and senior girls from low-income neighborhoods who want to learn about activism.  This workshop will be held in conjunction with the Watermark Conference for Women, where luminaries like Gloria Steinem, Serena Williams, and Brene Brown will give keynote speeches this year.
"I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own." - audre lorde
That's it for me for now, thank you for ALL your support - via your knitting, your feminist actions, and your support for women and girls everywhere - black, white, brown, rich, poor, whatever.

Thank you x 1,000,000 to the nth degree.  Happy 2019!

XOXO
