Dear Kathleen,
This is no time to back down. For people like you and me, who care deeply about the world we share, there are signs of hope for this movement everywhere. Scientists are archiving vital research data. Trump's executive orders keep being challenged in court. This weekend people are taking to the streets in Washington DC and other cities to demand Trump release his tax returns, and we are right there with them. And Greenpeace supporters like you are stepping up like never before. Thank you! Now, please join fellow members of this community and continue to power the resistance with your gift. I know this is an overwhelming, uphill climb every step of the way. But if we back down now, Trump gets away with it all. For a green and peaceful future, Mary Nicol P.S. We must reach our funding goal in time for the Peoples Climate March on April 29 — one of our biggest and best chances to demonstrate the power of our movement. Your gift today can ensure we succeed! | |

Heather’s story
Dear Kathleen, "I lost three friends this past week. Three people died." That's one of the first things Heather Von St. James said to me when I asked her why she cares so deeply about the Trump administration's attempts to gut the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Like you, she recognizes that human lives are at stake. Heather knows firsthand the devastation that could happen if Trump succeeds. At 36 years old, she was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a rare and usually lethal form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. Since recovering, she's dedicated herself to fighting for regulations that protect public health for millions of Americans and limit exposure to toxic chemicals in our environment. And until Trump entered office, Heather was seeing progress. Now, Heather is gearing up for the fight of her life — and it's one that will affect all of us who rely on clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment. More than 35,000 people have already taken action by petitioning Congress to defend the EPA's budget — will you join them? WATCH Heather's video and take action today! Trump's draft budget would cut EPA funding by 31 percent, slashing regulations that protect clean air and water for millions of Americans and reallocating the funds to the Department of Defense for "more warships and fighter jets." Simply put, it's more money for war and less for health and the environment. As Heather explains, "Those regulations are in place for a reason. They are there to save lives; they're there to protect our kids and our future. Without the backing of the EPA, people are going to get sick; people are going to keep dying." Trump is putting the lives of people like Heather at risk to protect industry profits — we have to keep resisting! WATCH Heather's video today and take action to show the White House that we will not back down in the face attacks on our health and environment. The Trump administration may be praising the benefits of its "cost-saving" budget, but make no mistake — the costs of disease are astronomical. Heather was left with more than $1 million in medical expenses. She had to travel back and forth between her home in Minnesota and Boston for specialist treatment. Radiation treatment and surgery to remove her left lung have left one side of her body numb, and she can't work. Making sure she has insurance is a matter of life or death. Even with these staggering financial costs, Heather told me it was the personal toll that hit her hardest. "When I was sick I felt very alone," she said. "I missed out on the whole first year of my baby's life. I watched her grow up through black and white photos that my mom would send to me on email. These are things that you can't put a dollar amount on." As long as this administration is in power, Greenpeace will stand by people like Heather — and all communities whose health has been jeopardized by toxic pollution — to defend our right to a healthy environment. Will you continue to stand with us? Will you WATCH Heather's powerful story today and take action to prove your resistance to Trump's anti-environment agenda?

Climate crisis is reaching point of no return
Dear Kathleen,
We've reached the tipping point to act on climate change. And we have no choice but to cut carbon emissions by dramatic proportions right now. But Trump and his fossil-fuel-loving administration are determined to tear down our climate protections and drill, mine, and frack even more fossil fuels from the ground — spewing carbon into the air and threatening clean air and water. That's why we are asking YOU to Power the Resistance and help us raise $180,000 by April 29 to fight Trump's attacks on our climate future and support our work to save the planet. On April 29, Greenpeace is partnering with over 100 environmental organizations to mobilize for the People's Climate March, and we must make the impact of our demonstration felt around the world. With Trump calling the shots, it is more important than ever that we show a strong, united front demanding climate action now. We can't take "no" for an answer. Science has spoken: the path to a sustainable future for people, wildlife, and the climate does not include fossil fuels. If we don't keep the majority of the world's remaining fossil fuels in the ground, the damage from burning them will be irreversible, setting our planet on a course for climate catastrophe. With your support, we'll pressure Big Banks not to fund the Keystone XL pipeline — keeping dirty tar sands in the ground. We'll fight Trump's rumored plans to open the Arctic and Atlantic up to offshore drilling. We'll organize petition drives and mobilize our activists to take action against Trump's plans to repeal the Clean Power Plan or defund the EPA. We will continue to call out the falsehoods spread by Trump and his fossil fuel allies — and expose environmental abuses. Kathleen, none of this happens without you. Please support Greenpeace today. You can put this campaign over the edge. Thank you, as always, for fighting for the sustainable and just future we so desperately need.

Dear Kathleen,
It's terrifying that I even have to say this, but it has to be said: Trump's agenda could cost people their lives.

Together, you and I will stop Trump
Dear Kathleen,
Ever since Trump took office, I have a daily, one-word to-do list: resist. It's short, but powerful. Just like I am.
