An incredible offer for you

Kathleen-

I understand the appeal of Black Friday and Cyber Monday — that time of year where you can get a deal or two on gifts for the people you love. But in truth, the most important of the post-Thanksgiving "days" is #GivingTuesday.

A day devoted to donating time, resources, and expertise in order to make a positive change — that always comes as a breath of fresh air in this time of materialism — and truly embodies the spirit of the season.

And this year, the spirit of #GivingTuesday has been magnified by generous benefactors who have offered to match, dollar for dollar, every donation we receive between now and midnight Tuesday night, up to an incredibly generous total of $100,000.

This is especially welcome news when you consider all that lies ahead of us. The Trans Mountain pipeline is floundering, and the Keystone XL pipeline is tied up in the courts, but we're not going to rest until every planned tar sands pipeline construction project — like Line 3 crossing Minnesota — is dead. Towns, cities, and counties across the country are banning plastic shopping bags and straws, but we have to continue our work until single-use plastics are a thing of the past.

We continue to battle Trump's plan to blanket our coastlines with oil-drilling rigs. We're taking on multinational corporations whose use of irresponsible palm oil is causing the wholesale destruction of rainforests and threatening dozens of species. We're fighting to stop the impacts catastrophic climate change, even while extremists who remain in power refuse to admit it's even happening.

I know we can win these battles and anything else politicians and corporate executives throw at us — if we all come together and do our utmost. That's why I'm asking you to honor Greenpeace with a #GivingTuesday donationa donation that could go twice as far once it's matched dollar for dollar.

Experience shows us that even the rich and powerful can't stand up to the force of millions of people determined to do right by the planet. But if we're going to win, we all have to do our part.

Executive Director, Greenpeace USA

P.S. Did I mention that you don't have to wait until Tuesday to qualify for the #GivingTuesday match? The opportunity to double every gift we receive is already in effect. So please help us reach our $100,000 goal by making a contribution to Greenpeace today.

Note: The matching funds to your gift could be applied to Greenpeace Fund, Inc. or Greenpeace, Inc.

Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you!
