Making sure you have a plan to vote
|
| Kathleen, did you vote yet? Election Day is on Tuesday, and the future of climate action in the United States is at stake. If you haven't voted early already, make a plan now. Click here to find all of the information you need to cast your vote before polls close on Election Day. There are two possible futures ahead of us. For the sake of everyone who lives on this planet, it's vital that climate voters like yourself choose which of them we will live in. In one of those futures, we elect a President who believes that tackling the climate crisis is of utmost importance. That we're in a pivotal moment to move toward a clean energy economy that builds resilience to climate disasters and strengthens our democracy and voting rights. In another future, we elect a President who does not believe in climate change and partners with Big Oil to prevent new environmental policies from being enacted — presenting a risk to the health and safety of our planet and the people we love. The future is in our hands. But this election is about far more than just our next president. Important races up and down the ballot will determine what Congress that president will have to work with, along with the future of climate action at the state and local levels all across the country. Kathleen, the climate crisis demands that this election can't just be about "not going back" — it has to be about going forward. Actually forward. Far beyond where we are now. You hold the power to determine which future we will live in by seeking out the truth, remaining well-informed about every candidate on your ballot, and making sure your voice is heard before polls close. Make sure you have all of the information you need to cast your vote before polls close on Tuesday. Remember: We likely won't have election results right away. Counting every vote will take time. No matter what happens, we will be prepared to defend our democracy from any threats or challenges. Every vote matters, and we will stand together to ensure every ballot is counted!
