The more we learn about the Earth and all the wonders it has to offer, the better we can protect it.

| | Kathleen — As Earth Day approaches, I've been reflecting on the beauty of our planet and all of the incredible people, plants, and animals who call it home. There's so much here that deserves protecting. Did you know that rainforests cover 6% of the Earth's surface — over 3 million square miles? Can you guess how much of the Earth's surface is covered in water? What I really want to know is if Greenpeace USA's biggest supporters can beat my score on our newest quiz. (I only missed one question!) How much do you know about our beautiful planet? Test your knowledge by taking our early Earth Day quiz! | | How about this, Kathleen — did you know that the average annual rainfall in the driest place on Earth is 0.03 inches? All this reflecting means facing some less-than-fun-facts, too. It couldn't be more clear that the health of our Earth is in jeopardy. Whether by habitat loss, over-hunting, or rising temperatures, all the signs point back to reckless human activity as the ultimate source. This Earth Day, I can't just sit back and watch — and I hope you won't either. The more we learn about the Earth and all the wonders it has to offer — resources and beauty that are constantly at greater and greater risk of disappearing due to the greed and inaction of megacorporations and politicians — the better we can protect it against the climate crisis. And in the fight against corporate greed and government inaction, our planet needs an ally more than ever. That's why Greenpeace USA is fighting day-in, day-out to protect the Earth and every creature who calls it home — but we can't do it without you. There's still a lot I have to learn about our fascinating world — including the threats it faces, and the ways we can help it. I hope you'll join me in the quest for knowledge by taking our new quiz today. | | Together, I know we can achieve a healthier Earth — for healthier plants, animals, and people. Thank you.
