Kathleen-

BLARG!!! It's been a bad week for plastic monsters like me. Around the world, thousands of Greenpeace activists like you are stepping up their actions to call out corporate plastic pollution. Will you step up too? Or will you allow plastic monsters like me to keep multiplying?

How to slay me

Here's the thing, every minute a monster-sized load of plastic — the equivalent of a truckload — enters the ocean. It's as if I get a new monster friend every minute to threaten ocean wildlife and coastal communities! Why? Most single-use plastics are not, or cannot, be recycled properly. So if you want to stop us plastic monsters, you have to stop corporations from producing so much darn plastic.

Make a generous donation today to help slay corporate plastic pollution and power all of Greenpeace's work building a powerful movement for people and the planet!

Listen, monsters truly understand corporate executives. You know they won't change a thing unless a relentless movement forces them to.

Unluckily for me, Greenpeace is getting down to business. They have documented plastic pollution in delicate ecosystems. They staged creative actions on four continents — including wrangling plastic monsters like me — to expose Nestlé's plastic pollution. They mobilized millions to sign petitions and thousands to call Nestlé offices.

This type of pressure is working. Nestlé has finally admitted that recycling alone won't solve the problem. And every week it seems like it's scrambling to spin out greenwashing PR to counter Greenpeace's campaign. Now is the time to push hard, to demand total transparency from Nestlé on the plastic it produces, real commitments to phase out single-use plastic, and ambitious plans to adopt reusable and refillable packaging.

Luckily for me, Greenpeace can't do it without you.

To keep escalating the plastic campaign, and all their work to protect the environment, Greenpeace needs to raise $380,000 by April 30. Kathleen, Greenpeace won't make it unless you step up and give generously today.

Or don't. Then, by 2050, there could be 12 billion tonnes of plastic waste polluting natural environments. That's a lot of new monster friends to terrorize the Earth.

For the blarg,

The plastic monster (and the whole Greenpeace plastics team)

P.S. This email is meant to be fun but the issue of corporate plastic pollution couldn't be more serious. Up to 9 in 10 seabirds, 1 in 3 sea turtles and more than half of whale and dolphin species have ingested plastic! Donate today to help us raise the $380,000 we need to keep escalating our plastics campaign and everything we do.

Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you!
