Kathleen - Your Giving Tuesday gift will be matched! Giving Tuesday is a day to support important causes and help make real, positive change happen. But it's also a day that requires making some serious decisions. Many organizations are vying for your support. So you may be asking yourself why you should give to Greenpeace. Well . . . In her email on Friday, our executive director, Annie Leonard, laid it out perfectly. She told you about our struggle against corporate polluters and climate change deniers, as well as our training and support of activists across the country. But there's more. Another reason Annie described for donating to Greenpeace right now is a special matching gift opportunity. A group of passionate donors have come together to create a matching fund of $83,000, specifically to raise funds in support of all our critical work protecting communities, coasts and climate, by midnight on Giving Tuesday. So the impact of your gift to Greenpeace could be doubled, but only when you give before midnight on 11/28. But there's so much more. Hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil gushed out of the Keystone Pipeline and into the soil of South Dakota recently. It was the second time the pipeline has breached in just 19 months – and there have been several huge oil spills at pumping stations as well. This is why Greenpeace is fighting so hard to block Congress from turning over even more of our land to be despoiled by oil and gas companies, putting corporate greed ahead of Americans' health and safety. Thank you for joining us in the fight to defend and protect our planet. Sincerely, Vicky Wyatt Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you! Greenpeace 702 H Street, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20001 | 1-800-722-6995
