Kathleen — I'm reaching out to remind you that Greenpeace USA is embroiled in a lawsuit with the potential to make or break our movement's very existence — and it's making national news. |
From The New York Times to The Wall Street Journal, onlookers are taking notice of Energy Transfer's desperate attempt to silence and punish our bold work for people and the planet by suing us to the tune of $300 MILLION in damages in a North Dakota court. |
But worst of all: without your continued support, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal both report that Energy Transfer could be well poised to bleed Greenpeace in the U.S. dry, stopping our ongoing campaigns and effectively wiping us out. |
But we will NOT be silenced — and with your help, we can win this fight. |
Against blatant legal bullying and nonsensical, racist arguments, this is a case we 100% can and must win — but we will need all the help we can get. Please, Kathleen, can we count on you? |

In frontline communities around the world, we've spent more than 50 years fighting for people and our planet and holding corporate polluters accountable for putting profits over our liveable future. |
That's why Big Oil is so desperate — to bankrupt us, to rewrite history, to erase Indigenous leadership, to protect the status quo, and to keep lining their pockets at our ultimate cost. |
But we're turning the tables and calling attention to how their own tactics are backfiring. Even The Wall Street Journal recognizes the impact this fight could have on Energy Transfer and its CEO, Kelcy Warren: "The lawsuit poses its own risks for Warren. Some oil-and-gas investors expressed concerns about the claim, saying it makes the industry look vindictive and could result in a reinvigorated protest movement." |
Now, we've got to fight back harder than ever to ensure our legacy of collective action for people and the planet survives — because what's at stake isn't just Greenpeace but every person's fundamental rights to free speech and peaceful protest. |
But with legal costs already taking their toll, our 100% grassroots-powered organization is relying on your generous support to help us fuel our fight for our planet and our continued existence. |
So I'm asking for your help, Kathleen, because I believe, like me, you hold a passion for our planet's healthier future and for every species that calls it home. Our work to achieve both of those goals rides on us surviving this lawsuit. Will you donate today and power the fight for people and our planet? |

Thank you for keeping us, and our entire movement, afloat. |
