Kathleen,
Have you heard? The Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise will be coming to Southern California this September. The first stop will be in San Diego — a city with a long history of commercial fishing. The first cannery opened in 1909 and at one time San Diego was known as "The Tuna Capital of the World" with two of the country's three biggest tuna canneries being based along its Bay.
Today, it is home to Bumble Bee Tuna — a company with links to supplying vessels implicated in forced labor, human trafficking, illegal shark finning, and the suspected murders of a fisheries observer and a migrant worker. This is unacceptable.
Add your name to send a message to Bumble Bee right now: Protect human rights and our oceans!
Having healthy oceans helps us all thrive — marine life, climate, local economies, workers — everyone. Greenpeace has spent the past 50 years protecting our oceans and we aren't backing down now. That's why we are planning a ship stop in San Diego where we will personally deliver all Greenpeace petition signatures to Bumble Bee.

Bumble Bee has a legal and moral obligation to look out for workers and practice human decency — to stop human rights abuses, labor abuses, and illegal fishing in its supply chain. Putting the profits from cheap tuna over human life and decent work is egregious and must be stopped.
It's time for Bumble Bee to chart a new path and show customers it is serious about putting people and the health of our oceans at the heart of its decisions.
For the oceans,
Sari Heidenreich
