Kathleen- Stop the Trans Mountain pipeline! What an exciting day this has been! Today, Greenpeace, in partnership with allies across the movement, is participating in a Day of Action against JPMorgan Chase — a bank that is financing tar sands pipelines, including the expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline from western Canada to the Pacific Ocean. Do your part by signing our petition: let JPMorgan Chase executives know that funding pipelines is bad for their company. When you go to the petition page, you'll have the opportunity to write your own message to the CEO of JPMorgan Chase. But if you don't have the words, or the time, to compose something of your own, we've provided a message for you. The whole process can take just a minute or two. Why are we targeting a bank that will finance the project? Because it works! Just last month, banking giant HSBC — the seventh largest bank in the world — announced it will no longer provide financing for new tar sands projects. That's a huge step toward stopping pipelines such as the Keystone XL and Line 3 Expansion for good! If this news tells us anything, it's that together, we can stop new pipeline projects and keep tar sands in the ground. Add your name right now to tell JPMorgan Chase that it's time to stop providing financial services to tar sands pipelines! The transport of tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest oils on Earth, through this pipeline and out to sea in tankers will trample Indigenous rights, risk the lives of endangered Orca whales and destabilize our global climate. To respond to the growing climate crisis—with its super-storms, floods, wildfires, and other extreme weather events — we need to be rapidly moving away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy. Massive new oil pipelines do the exact opposite. Let JPMorgan Chase know that funding the pipeline is not a good business plan – please don't wait to sign, add your voice to the cause today. Thank you for all you're doing to protect our life-giving oceans and supporting all our campaigns to save the planet. Diana Best P.S. Greenpeace activists and supporters across the U.S. and Canada are taking action to let these bankers know just how we all feel about tar sands pipelines! Just watch this new video that shows you Five Ways to Stop a Pipeline. Greenpeace never takes a dime from corporations or governments. Everything we do is thanks to the generous support of people like you! Greenpeace 702 H Street, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20001 | 1-800-722-6995
